I’m busy and WordPress doesn’t work at my job.

Sorry folks, I’ve been taking classes recently and trying to master the one hour nap.  Cats don’t like when you take a one hour nap.  They let you know.  Also for what ever reason WordPress doesn’t work very well at my job which would be very nice on those nights I average one call every hour from 2 am to 5 am.  Bleh.  Where here’s some Hulk stuff!

It always brightens my day seeing an Arthur Adams’ Hulk drawing!

And the NFL draft is Thursday.  I hope the Cowboys draft the Hulk!

Ninja Rap

Back in 1991 a little movie sequel came out that I was kinda torn on.  You see, I was 14 when Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze came out and while I was a fan of the comics the cartoon style of the Turtles no longer appealed to me.  But this post isn’t about my feelings toward TMNT and how it evolved.  This post is about Vanilla Ice:

While I have been at clubs where things like this have happened this scene still makes me slap my forehead and cry a little on the inside.  And like a lot of things from the early 90s I blocked this out.

Now the internet is a cruel and harsh mistress and in my exploration this morning I found this:

It’s funny when you find something and say to yourself: “Thank God I didn’t get my parents to buy me that.”  I mean my parents were nice and bought me plenty of useless crap throughout my childhood, I’m just glad I never asked for this.

So 1991, VHS tape, video single…  maybe 10-15 minutes long…  How much did this cost brand new?  $15?  $25?  I remember brand new VHS tapes sometimes costing upward of $75 a few years before (someday my Jaws the Revenge story will come out) but surely this wouldn’t have been that high.

This is also the perfect onslaught of ’90s pop culture.  Words like “ninja” “rap” “ice” and “turtle” scream flashy neon t-shirts and Zubaz!  Maybe this was worth $25 in 1991!  Fire up the VCR!

Ugh.  I need to go back to bed.

I keep finding random stuff at the bottom of my drawers.  That sounds dirty…

Ed McGuinness loves this type of character…

I’ve been reading the Superman/Batman series this week and several issues are penciled by Ed McGuinness.  He also did quite a few Hulk issues  including the start of the Red Hulk  series.  (Please don’t call him Rulk, it sounds like the end of a bad frat party.  At least the few I went to.)

Anywho, I noticed he like throwing in this type of character:

Composite Superman:

Superman Batman 25-22

And Compound Hulk:

This makes my head tired…   Actually Compound Hulk is making fun of the Composite Superman.  Both DC and Marvel love taking jabs at each other and maybe someday I’ll compare the two company’s attempts.  Or not. Blah.
