Back in my early 20s whenever I was reading I would listen to atmospheric music to heighten my experience. Often it was albums that were primarily instrumental in nature and that fit along with whatever I was reading at the time. Since I’m a huge horror fan a lot of it was creepy, Halloween-esque music done by artists such as Glenn Danzig or Eerie Von. Uneasy Listening by Eerie Von always puts me in the mood to read Lovecraft.
For years I wanted to make my own music to read to. Something creepy yet epic that would add to my vivid visualization of the printed word! After several attempts using a borrowed keyboard and a karaoke machine or fifteen year old programs on a sixteen year old computer I finally have the technology and I have made my greatest instrumental album since Pure Goth was eaten up in the tape player of my 1993 Ford Escort!
So here’s my awkward album with no vocals packed with chills and thrills for all you Frighteners and Frightenettes. You can feel the horror oozing from your speakers as you read your favorite Christopher Pike or T.E.D. Klein novel. Enjoy it before I put out my subpar country album!
